Goodbye Farmers Market.... (sniff sniff)

Sadly, Saturday was the last Certified Organic Farmers Market until September.
You see, Palm Springs just gets too hot for most people...and growing food!

Here are some of the yummy foods I brought back from my trip with Nikki-
(And I for sure have to THANK Kim and Wendy for letting me have their 'box of food' they pick up once a week, since they both were on vacation! I love you two!)

Yummy yellow nectarines and peaches!

I really have NO IDEA what these were- do you?

You have not tasted a carrot until it was organically grown, period.

Strawberries were to die for!

Leeks, green onions, garlic and broccoli- all ready for preparing dishes!

And thanks to my secret sister Alyssa, my new compost pail got all the leftovers!

So Saturday night we had Nikki and her family come over and we had teriyaki chicken and veggies on bamboo skewers, with white rice, and a fruit salad. We had a wonderful time!
Who will you invite over this week?

That's why you should summer up here; our farmer's markets (we have three right now) are just gearing up!
We have a CSA at one; I'm still trying to figure out some of the goodies we picked up on Saturday, but we made an amazing rhubarb smoothie this morning!

We are members of a organic co-op...I love it and since it's Florida, we have different stuff all year long!
