(Giggles)
Well- I'm 41. It's official.
Hummm..not what I thought it would feel like, I suppose.
Not sure what I expected, but thought at least I'd have time with my family to celebrate...worked all day, picked up kids, crammed in homework time and snack, re-showered and got kids ready for my Back To School Night, since Jeff is working in Blythe...ugh.
So much for my birthday.
Gone is the goose-pimply excitement of anticipation of your special day. No more chocolate pop-tarts delivered to you in bed before school. No more getting kidnapped by your high-school friends and driven to school in your p.j.'s, no more cake and presents after dinner...well- okay, I guess I still have that.
Birthdays aren't a bummer, just....well...different now.
I guess it is my turn to bring that kind of excitement to special days like my mom and dad did. Have little surprises planted all throughout their day to help them celebrate. Choose something exciting that will blow their socks off and say, "WOW Mom and Dad- that was the best birthday EVER!"
Last year for my 40th, Mom and Dad, awesome sister and Hubby really surprised me with a HUGE surprise party! I will blog about it for sure- it was a hoot! I felt like that old show, "This is YOUR Life"...
So here's to everyone who has a birthday this year- (hint, hint) Find people you want to be with and just plain 'ole go have fun! Do something different! Try something new! Go for Chinese food!
Happy Birthday to you...cha cha cha...

Well...Happy Birthday, anyway!
It IS more fun to have SOMETHING special and/or different, but as we age (oh, I hate that word!) it seems to depend more and more on US.
So, look in the mirror and laugh at the funny face! That's what I do.
Since it is your birthday and I have come here to wish you the happiest of happy I will not spend too much time pointing out the omission of a certain sister (who by the way was VERY pregnant) who had a bit of a hand in the planning of said 40th birthday surprise party.
Boy oh boy.... I guess they say the memory is the first thing to go...and you are OVER 40 now. So I'll forgive you. Mom always taught us to be kind to our elders!!
I was going to make my own post on your web site but my invitation has expired so this wish will have to do. Until the kids wake up and we can call and sing to you!
xoxo
Cocktail call tonight after your open house!
Happy birthday to you! I love the advice you give at the end to just go out and have fun! Life's too short that's for sure. Maybe this year on my birthday I'll do just that with some friends!
Happy Birthday! But me? I always go for the quiet.
Happy birthday!
Happy Late Birthday! Sorry I missed it. Hope you had a great time!
Hugs,
Joanne
